Mars
is known from old as Venus complimentary
opposite poll. Mars is often perceived as
Venus's spouse. Where Venus brings people
together, Mars is a separating influence
between people. Mars also stands for older
traditional masculine values such as courage,
strength and war. As long as someone gives
him balance then all is well and good and
strengths can be engaged in pioneering.
Mars can also have a less pleasant side
of destructivity and personal success without
any regard for others. If Mars is too strong
in the horoscope then this is likely expressed
in acts of grimness, thirst for power and
exaggerated egoism. Yet it is important
that there is some influence from Mars in
a horoscope so as a person can activate
courage and strength to meets life's difficulties.
Of course Mars is a warrior, and a courageous
one, but in our time it often demands more
to dare to fight with the pen rather than
the sword. The true warriors of our day
are men such as Ghandi and Lennon. Just
as with Mercury, Mars is also a force devoid
of judgmental principles. How Mars reacts
is circumstantial to the setting in which
he is found.
