n previous times the seven visible astral
bodies including the sun were called planets,
it was believed they revolved around the
Earth as the centre of the universe. (Now
it is believed that the centre of the universe
is most likely not in our solar system.)
In modern times man has discovered three
new planets previously unseen by the naked
eye. In astrology the planets are divided
up into three groups.
In the first group are included the Sun,
the Moon, Mercury, Mars and Venus. These
planets are called the personal planets
moving quite fast through the signs of the
zodiac. Of these planets Mars takes the
longest time to complete one full cycle-
not quite two years. While we experience
the planets influence quite often we have
learned to control our reactions to them.
Most of us must admit in some way to the
effect of the Moon and Sun in the form of
a full moon or as autumn depressions.
In the second group we find the giant planets
Jupiter and Saturn. These planets are the
social planets and their influence is more
long-term. Subconscious desires that can
be seen as social trends rather than personal.
They have an effect on how we perceive the
world
The three newly discovered planets Uranus,
Neptune and Pluto are called the generation
planets. They take such a long time moving
across the heavens it is said their energies
effect whole generations at once. They influence
culture and the attitudes within civilizations
over long periods of time.
Within these pages you can find some of
the usual associations and traditional properties,
which endow the different planets. Choose
